Injecting problem-solving approach in Omani Curriculum (PP16)

Abstract

The presentation  starts by giving theoretical input on problem-solving approach and mainly the use of Bloom’s taxonomy. This taxonomy is very effective for teachers to be systematic about how to encourage students to use their higher order thinking skills. The ultimate goal of all of this is to enable students to think about their world critically. To clarify this, the presenters will present some sample activities they have developed from different  Omani English syllabuses.

Moza Hamdan Al-Maqbali,
Ministry of Education
Moza works as a teacher trainer in the Ministry of Education,Oman.She holds an MA degree in TESOL from the University of Manchester. Since she started teaching, she has presented in many local and international conferences.

Presenter 2

Raya Suleiman Humaid Al-Risi,
Ministry of Education
Raya works as an English  teacher trainer in the Ministry of Education in Oman. She has a master's degree in arts from Manchester University. She has participated in many international conferences like IATEFL Britain, SQU Oman, Inted Spain and Qatar.
